Marks Paneth appoints new International Tax Principal

New York based member firm, Marks Paneth, has announced the addition of Julio Jimenez as a new Principal in its International Tax Practice.

Marks Paneth, headquartered in New York, United States, has announced the addition of Julio Jimenez, JD, LL.M. as a Principal in the firm’s International Tax Practice. Julio brings to the firm extensive experience in international tax planning and advisory services for the financial sector, multinational individuals, corporations and family businesses.

Prior to joining Marks Paneth, Julio performed other technical leadership roles at national public accounting firms and led his own international tax advisory practice. He also served as anattorney advisor for the Office of Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where he helped to draft significant guidance dealing with dividend withholding, international strategies, financial products, foreign currency and IRS examinations.

Julio specialises in international tax controversy, capital markets structuring and planning, financial products, tax treaty issues, hybrid instruments, foreign tax credits, hedging, treasury and risk management strategies. In his new role, he will also draw from significant experience advising clients on the impact of the new tax law on international tax provisions.
