GDPR experts, ClearComm, become part of the Kingston Smith Group

Morison KSi is delighted to announce that its UK member firm, Kingston Smith, has strengthened its business advisory offering with investment in General Data Protection Regulation experts, ClearComm.

With the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across Europe replacing the UK Data Protection Act in May 2018, Kingston Smith recognises its clients are reviewing how they deal with personal data. The GDPR imposes more explicit obligations on anyone doing business in Europe to process and hold personal data securely, which ClearComm’s online solutions, data protection officer and advisory offerings can help address. ClearComm’s business extends beyond the UK, having advised clients across multiple jurisdictions in Europe.

Maureen Penfold, Managing Partner of Kingston Smith, commented:

The formalising of our relationship with ClearComm makes good business sense for us and our clients. Our investment in ClearComm means they can leverage off their existing technology and together we can offer a broader service to clients to help them reach their potential.

Mark Burnett, ClearComm’s Head of Privacy & Data Protection Solutions, adds:

We’re delighted to be able to draw on Kingston Smith’s expertise, impressive client base and reputation in the market, and become part of the Kingston Smith Group. Their support allows us to further strengthen and develop our GDPR services to clients in Europe.

This strategic move builds on an ongoing relationship between Kingston Smith and ClearComm who share similar client bases.

On behalf of all members, Morison KSi would like to congratulate Kingston Smith on this development.
